IREON - The International Relations and Area Studies Gateway - your central point of access to scholarly literature

Operating agency of this gateway is the German Information Network International Relations and Area Studies ( FIV), which is a network of libraries and documentation departments of 13 research organisations (12 German and 1 Nordic), coordinated by the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik - German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), and funded by the German government.

The gateway offers bibliographic references, full-text documents and (soon) web sites on

• foreign and security policy
• international cooperation and development policy
• European politics and transatlantic relations
• regional and country studies worldwide
• foreign cultural policy
• climate, environment, energy

In the nine language European Thesaurus on International Relations and Area Studies you will find relevant search terms for your search in IREON.
Currently there are four bibliographic databases and a collection of international security treaties available, and (soon) one online contents special subject collection:

• World Affairs Online
  About 700.000 references, partly with links to fulltext documents, on scholarly literature about global and regional trends in foreign and security policy and in political, economic, social and cultural development worldwide. The focus lies on articles, scholarly internet publications and electronic or printed papers in these fields. The literature is indexed by the European Thesaurus International Relations and Area Studies. [more]

  PAIS International contains bibliographic references on politics, administration, economic and social sciences. [more]
• Library of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation
  The online catalogue of the Foundation' s specialized library with more than 600.000 volumes on political and social topics as well as issues of contemporary history in Germany and many other countries. [more]
• WPSA
  CSA Worldwide Political Science Abstracts contains bibliographic references to political science literature and literature of related sciences. [more]
• WAO-Treaties
  "WAO-Treaties" contains collections of references to international treaties with a link to the fulltext document. [more]
• Online Contents IBLK
  The OLC-SSG International Relations and Area Studies – Online-Contents Special Subject Collection The multidisciplinary database OLC-SSG International Relations and Area Studies contains table of contents of journals from several special subject collections, including political science, economics, the Middle East and other regional special subject collections. It offers a multidisciplinary selection from the Swets-Database Online-Contents, with additional input from other special subject collections. [more]
